November 2023

a pot that is sitting on a table

November - a time to be thankful while enjoying the beauty of the season.  The time when the cold, winter weather has not yet arrived, the crops have been harvested and the thought of a warm fire glowing in the fireplace becomes a reality.

The colors have been vibrant and the view beautiful.  It is hard to believe that another growing season has come to a slow crawl.  Life on the farm continues as we clean, look at catalogues and stay excited as we plan for the 2024 season.

We are hoping to continue dining on the patio, under the tent as long as possible although the weather has been a bit cold in the evening.  We do have some heaters.  We are recommending BYOSB - bring your own snuggly blanket!  As always the conservatory is always available for you.

Thank you Northern Virginia Magazine.  We were honored by the Northern Virginia Magazine with the #2 restaurant in the November Best Restaurants.  Congratulations to every restaurant for their dedication to create dining for your enjoyment.  We are honored to be among so many great people and incredible diversity and talent.  Thank you to all of you, our incredible guests and to our amazing staff.  I am forever proud of our entire team.

Thank you to the Loudoun Chamber of Commerce.  We were a finalist for the Loudoun Destination Business of the Year.  We attended the Small Business awards on November 10 along with approximately 500 people who make up the small business community.  The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm was honored to be among the wonderful, talented small businesses in Loudoun.  There are so many caring, creative and dedicated people.  Congratulations to all the winners and finalists.

Whether sitting in our glass conservatory, gazebo or open-air tent, the view overlooking the Potomac River never disappoints.  A tranquil setting, inspired by nature, the venue presents a breathtaking natural setting.  Join us for a celebration of the connection between kitchen and earth.  Each course presents inspiration for the seasons and harmony with the earth.  The chefs draw from what the region has to offer, crafting a progression menu on what our farm and local farmers, fishermen and foragers provide.  We strive to excel at turning ordinary evenings into extraordinary ones.  The elemental base of fresh ingredients serves as inspiration for the chef's cuisine that we hope will excite your palate and nourish your soul®

As we celebrate the Thanksgiving season, remember to give thanks for all the blessings that surround you.  Give thanks for all the little things we sometimes take for granted.  I am always grateful that I have been able to live a dream, share my life with all of you and meet you throughout the year at the restaurant.
