Beverly's Update, June 2025

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
Honoring fathers, mentors and all of those that embrace the responsibility of nurturing and raising children, whether they be dads, uncles, grandfathers or someone who devotes their time to make sure children are surrounded with the support and guidance needed to develop into strong, caring individuals.
Let's thank our dads and father figures for always being present in our lives.

The smells are captivating as June brings the sweet aromas of wild roses and honeysuckle. Mulberries have made their appearance and the blueberries, and black raspberries are almost ready - perhaps the warm weather will push them along. We will wait for wineberries and later blackberries. We are harvesting garlic scapes which means in another few months there will be lots of fresh garlic. We continue to cut kale, peas, turnips, beets, carrots, spinach, letttuces, nasturtiums, onions and more and lots of herbs. Most everything has been planted and now we plant in succession for a continuous crop of beans, squash, basil, cucumbers and more. We have seen our first tomatoes blossom and are waiting impatiently for that luscious flavor. I love the bounty. All the blossoms in our gardens provide bright flavors and beautiful additions to our menu. Though the menu is posted, with the season bringing us new ingredients almost daily, you should expect some surprises. Each month brings another joy to the growing season. The weather has been somewhat unpredictible - lots of rain, coolness and yet every day is a blessing.
We were honored by the Northern Virginia Magazine in the Best of NoVA, June 2025. "Restaurant with a View" and "Farm-To-Table Restaurant". This is the readers' favorites issue.
