July 2022
July brings magical moments on the farm. Harvest baskets will overflow with tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, onions, ground cherries, fennel, cucumbers, beans, berries and of course, the abundance of squash, quickly filling the restaurant kitchen. The garlic is harvested and we are picking blueberries, wineberries, black raspberries daily with the blackberries almost ready. Nasturtiums, tarragon, and basil = lots of pesto.
This is the perfect time to visit your local farmer's market. Feel the connection to the earth, knowing that the fruits and vegetables found in your garden or at the local market will sustain us through the next months. It is so satisfying knowing that we are creating food that will be healthy and enjoyed. What fun to pick from your garden and come inside and create a dish that tastes fresh and is full of nutrition. The recipes are endless. This is the prime time of the year for farms to shine.
Loren is doing a phenomenal job planting and harvesting. She invites you, by appointment, starting July 14, Thursday and Friday - 9:00 - 3:00 p.m. to buy produce from the farm. Cash only.
