July brings magical moments on the farm. Harvest baskets overflow with tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, beans, berries and of course, the abundance of squash, quickly filling the restaurant kitchen. The garlic has been harvested and we are picking blackberries daily. Kale, nasturtiums, herbs, flowers, onions also fill the basket, and lots of basil = lots of pesto.
This is the perfect time to visit your local farmer's market. Feel the connection to the earth, knowing that the fruits and vegetables found in your garden or at the local market will sustain us through the next months. It is so satisfying knowing that we are creating food that will be healthy and enjoyed. What fun to pick from your garden and come inside and create a dish that tastes fresh and is full of nutrition. The recipes are endless. Enjoy as you visit the farmer's markets choosing from a wide selection of fruits and vegetables creating pure wonderment. This is the prime time of the year for farms to shine.
The rewards are many at our restaurant knowing we respect the earth and honor where the food comes from whether it be from the grower, producer or straight from our farm.
