August 2023

zinnias

August already?  Just so hard to believe.

Lots of positive transitioning happening at The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm.  Our team is increasing and we are excited about the changes.  So much talent, so much dedication, so many incredible people.  I am beyond blessed to work with a compassionate group of people who every day share their heart and soul to make the restaurant a success.  We appreciate every moment in life.  That is a philsophy we embrace at Patowmack Farm.  We want to do everything we can to make you, our guests enjoy the time you spend with us.  It is more than just a meal to us, it is an experience that we hope will create lasting memories for you as part of our Patowmack Farm family.

We are excited to announce Colby Janowitz as our new Executive Chef.  He has been with us for almost a year now and his dedication, creativity and positivity shines through every day.  He is uplifting our entire staff through education and respect.

We will be offering our progression menu Thursday - Saturday taking reservations from 5:30 - 8:00 and the progression menu on Sunday from 4:00 - 7:00.  We will offer brunch on August 27, October 29 and January 1, 2024 with reservations taken from 12:00 - 2:00.   On the days that brunch is offered, there will be no dinner.

We are in the midst of melons, shishito peppers, tomatoes, squash, blackberries, green beans, and soon planting the hoophouse for the fall and winter.  Peaches from local farms are delicious.  The changing seasons going are going by so quickly.

Bonnie is working to prepare the gardens for the fall.  Lots of radishes, spinach, fall lettuces, pumpkins, beets, turnips and more are soon coming.  She continues to keep the farm beautiful and planting every day for a continuous supply of vegetables.  The bunnies are plentiful and we had a huge family of turkeys dining on the blackberries!!

The rewards are many at our restaurant knowing we respect the earth and honor where the food comes from whether it be from the grower, producer or straight from our farm.

Check out the website under special events for the schedule.  Feast in the Garden, October 15, Thanksgiving, November 23, Annual Cookie Exchange, December 17, New Year's Eve and January 1 - New Year's Lunch.

Whether sitting in our glass conservatory, gazebo or open-air tent, the view overlooking the Potomac River never disappoints.  A tranquil setting, inspired by nature, the venue presents a breathtaking view and natural setting.  Join us for a celebration of the connection between kitchen and earth.  Each course presents inspiration for the seasons and harmony with the earth.  The chefs draw from what the region has to offer, crafting a progression menu on what our farm and local farmers, fishermen and foragers provide.  We strive to excel at turning ordinary evenings into extraordinary ones.  There are personalized touches throughout your dining experience that will excite your palate and nourish your soul®

Support your local farmer's markets.  They are full of produce, meat and baked goods.  The relationships we develop with our local producers are invaluable - we ask everyone to continue your support of these businesses at your local farmers markets, their farms, the wineries and breweries.    We salute them and their dedication for the extraordinary job they do each and every day.

It continues to be our honor to welcome you to the restaurant.
