January 2019

Thank you for an amazing year - my friends, my guests, my staff, my beautiful daughters and grandchildren.  Your support continues to leave me in awe. I am blessed each and every day.  I will continue to prune out the toxic and negative, look for the positive in every moment, breathe deeply and let go.  I will accept, listen intently, embrace life with passion, nurture and understand.  I hope that you will find comfort and exhilaration way beyond your expectations in 2019.

This weather is a tease.  I am not complaining because I love the warmth, tolerate the cold and dream of the new growing season.  Seed catalogues are spread all over, some orders are on their way and others are about to be completed.  Of course, there is always something else that I must have so after looking over the catalogues for the umpteenth time, I just have to make another order and I wonder later - what have I done!!!  I wait impatiently to start seeds, work the soil and anticipate an incredible growing season.

As we return from our short break from January 2 - 11, the excitement and anticipation builds for the 2019 restaurant season.  We reflect on the past year and plan ahead for what we would like to accomplish in the coming year.  Being a more active part of the community is important to us as well as being a part of healthy food choices for children and clean water for all.  We are part of several organizations that provide clean water such as Charity: water.

I am very grateful for the opportunity that you have given me.  Meeting and speaking with you throughout the year lifts me so high.  I am honored and humbled to be living my dream.  

Thank you to all the farmers, wineries and artisan producers who provide us with their outstanding products.  We appreciate the dedication and the extraordinary job they do each and every day.
